About TSS

The Slow Sojourn is a travelogue and labour of love of one Mai Fiah (me!), a (oft solo) female traveler based in Singapore. This publication was borne out of a love of exploration of lands, experiencing cultures, meeting peoples and the wish to document the stories from these sojourns.

Stories of Sojourns, Sincerely Shared

My love for travel stems largely from my love of our beautiful Earth – its lands and its people. As such, I am deeply passionate about preserving our natural and cultural wonders, and respecting the dignity of people everywhere.

In my commitment to these values, I strive to leave as little a footprint as possible in my journeys and focus on slow travel – travelling by mass public transit, overland travel and avoiding flights where possible, and staying in a location for as long as I can. I also endeavour to stay in locally-owned accommodations where possible.

TSS (and I) are a constant work in progress and as with any journey, I continue to learn and may make mistakes. I welcome any feedback and opportunity to learn – you may contact me here.
